Course Overview:
Introduction to Hair Weaving: This module provides an overview of hair weaving techniques, including its history, cultural significance, and contemporary applications in hairstyling. Students will learn about different types of hair weaving methods, tools, and materials used in hair weaving.
Hair Weaving Tools and Equipment: Students will learn about the tools and equipment used in hair weaving, including weaving needles, weaving threads, hair extension materials, and hair weaving caps. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the proper use and maintenance of these tools.
Hair Texture and Color Matching: This module covers the process of matching hair texture and color to achieve seamless integration with natural hair. Students will learn how to assess hair texture, density, and color to select appropriate hair extensions for weaving.
Braiding Techniques: Students will learn various braiding techniques used as the foundation for hair weaving, including cornrow braiding, tree braiding, and crochet braiding. Emphasis will be placed on creating flat, secure braids that serve as the base for hair weaving.
Hair Weaving Methods: This module explores different hair weaving methods, including sew-in weaving, glue-in weaving, fusion bonding, and clip-in extensions. Students will learn how to perform each method safely and effectively to achieve desired hair weaving styles.
Hair Extension Application: Students will learn how to properly apply hair extensions using different weaving methods. Topics include strand-by-strand application, track-by-track application, and full-head weaving techniques.
Hair Weaving Maintenance and Care: This module covers the maintenance and care of hair weaves to ensure longevity and client satisfaction. Students will learn about proper washing, conditioning, styling, and removal techniques for different types of hair weaves.
Blending and Styling: Students will learn how to blend natural hair with hair extensions to create seamless, natural-looking hairstyles. Emphasis will be placed on styling techniques to enhance the overall appearance and versatility of hair weaving styles.
Client Consultation and Communication: Emphasis will be placed on effective communication skills and client consultation techniques. Students will learn how to assess client needs, preferences, and expectations to provide personalized hair weaving services.
Ethics and Professionalism: Students will develop professionalism, ethics, and interpersonal skills necessary for success in the hair weaving industry. They will learn about client confidentiality, informed consent, boundaries, and professional conduct.
Salon Management and Business Skills: This module covers the fundamentals of salon management, including appointment scheduling, client management, retail sales, inventory management, and financial management. Students will also learn about marketing strategies and business development opportunities in the hair weaving industry.
Practical Training and Workshops: Hands-on practice sessions and workshops are integrated throughout the course to reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills. Students will have the opportunity to work on mannequin heads and practice hair weaving techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors.
